چکیده
Abstract Stromboli (Italy) is a basaltic volcano characterized by persistent, mild strombolian activity, occasionally interrupted lava effusion and more violent explosive events, named major explosions paroxysms depending on their intensity magnitude. The normal activity fed shallow degassed highly porphyritic (HP) shoshonitic basalt carrying about 50 vol.% crystals settled in glassy matrix (K 2 O > 3.8 wt.%). energetic erupt deep, volatile-rich, low-porphyritic (LP) magma with < 10 2.4 Products intermediate glass composition are also found the events. In this study, we present new data set of trace element contents glasses minerals performed products from different types that occurred at between 1998 2020. This large used to put constraints evolution architecture plumbing system, where transformation LP HP occurs. Results indicate that, compared paroxysms, matrices pumices richer incompatible elements (and K wt.%) due 15 wt.% fractionation clinopyroxene olivine. points chemical zoning deep reservoir suggests magmas residing its upper part. As relevant point understanding pre- syn-eruptive dynamics, positive correlation magnitude depth supply magma.

The April-May 2006 volcano-tectonic events at Stromboli volcano (Southern Italy) and their relation with the magmatic system
Between April 10th and May 22th 2006, a small seismic swarm of 5 volcano-tectonic events occurred on the volcanic island of Stromboli (Southern Italy). Two of these, having M > 3 and an intensity of about V-VI MCS, were clearly felt causing concern in the population. They were recorded during a period of increased explosive activity and were followed by two major explosions at the summit crater...
متن کاملThe magmatic plumbing system beneath Santiaguito Volcano, Guatemala
a r t i c l e i n f o The silicic dome complex of Santiaguito, Guatemala, has exhibited continuous extrusive activity for 90 years. Despite its longevity, remarkably little is known about the magmatic plumbing system beneath Santiaguito. Here, we use petrological analyses of lava samples to define this plumbing system, from storage in the lower to mid-crust through to extrusion onto the surface...
